Too Old-fashioned?

 
 Hi guys, sorry I didn't post yesterday, was very sad about Goldie's death, she was one of my fav Naija celebs....May her Soul rest in peace.
   
Today am not going to be talking about a jerk but another issue that I find disturbing, I dnt know if I have become too old fashioned....not sure anymore. Let me tell you guys something that happened recently so you guys can understand what am talking.
 
 
 I met a guy recently and we have been talking on bbm, we have become pretty close and I knew he liked me but I was not sure about my feelings for him but that was not even the problem, two days ago he pinged me and was like I want to ask you something, I was like sure nd then he says will you be my babe?....u should have seen my face...like seriously, is that how you ask a girl out nowadays?
 Of course I said no, like after from not having feelings for him, how can you ask me out with a Ping.....and the situation got me thinking about the olden days....yeah am feeling like someone that has lived a lifetime...lool...but can you guys remember those days when a boy would pursue a girl, take his time to get to know a girl, ask her out the right way and also do everything to get her to say yes but nowadays, when a boy meets a girl, he would collect her pin, he would probably not collect her number, so the guy never calls, but he would probably ping the girl for Africa, which can be so annoying...boys don't even take girls on dates again...all they want to do is ping.
  Hope all this is not making you guys think am into romantic, fairy tale or Cinderella ish...nah I don't have time for all that but I just miss those days that a boy actually made an effort into chasing a girl, because that was always the fun part, u know all the calls, the length he would go to see you smile and also ask you out the right way not with a ping. I miss those days....*sigh*
 So after this my story of life....do you guys think am too old fashioned and I should get on with the new age, or you guys actually miss those days too. Can't wait for your comments.
 Tomorrow I would be posting one of the stories I got from a reader of the blog...pretty interesting. Pls guys keep your stories coming, would love to hear from you and it would be published anonymously unless you want it otherwise.

    I agree, dose days made love romantic, the leta writin on a love shaped paper, infact I prefrefer dose day, cuz it made men "work" for wot dey needed frm d opp sex. I still believe true love still exist, bt is very scarce!!!

    Well, m nt a fan of fonecallz so, d pings r ok by mi bt, if u wnt 2 ask mi 2 b ur girl, u cud do it via bbm bt u must v taken mi on alot of dates. Oweva, if Hezbollah goin 2 propose n he does it via bbm or fone, dude, u jst lost mi.

    Ladies comment up here.... Well has a guy, I would really say a yes or no but really at times it depends on the feelings at that moment.

    I feel at times the guy is seriously ready in asking the girl out but that's when the girl starts to play hide and seek or just leaves the guy in the obilivion. Fustrating things happen and really while babes enjoys the the chase, they forget that a guy's attention span is low, when fustration sets in during the hide and seek, the guy simply weighs his option either to do it online via communication gadgets or just abandon the girl till she gets tired of the hide and seek.

    At other times, the certain guys could be timid and scared of the babe's reaction. So they prefer the unseen asking out. But babes are just creatures guys never understand from generation to generation.

    Enjoy babes, its a woman's world and not a man's world... Beyonce "who runs the world"

    I agree a lot with the last comments. I am neither here nor there on the issue. I think it basically falls back to how much the two have come along. If discussions have been going on before now and the coast is clear as to the sentiments shared by both parties, the bbm thing is cool. But asking a girl out simply on the basis of a bbm chat is not welcomed. A lady should be given the opportunity of being and feeling like a lady. They love the chase. How ever, girls should not over stretch the chase, if you love a guy and at least he has met a certain mark of your expectation....please dont drag it....say YES!

    My turn to comment... I'm old-fashioned too and I miss those days!
    Funny enough, I've been thinking about this issue lately. Something happened to me recently too, I might as well share my story in this comment lol.
    A guy asked me for my number and he used to call non-stop, top up his phone and we'll talk till whenever his credit runs out, he'd even buy me credit. Then one day, he asked to add me on whatsapp and I made the mistake of doing that. Since then, stopped calling till I brought it to his attention and then he gave some BS excuse about being busy and he only called once.
    It's like if you want a guy to properly pursue you, don't even let him add you on bbm or whatsapp, let him call. That's what I've learnt from my experience.

    Nice piece there,very original.....if u ask me, I don't see any problem in asking a girl out ova bbm. At times its necessary to strike when d metal is hot. U know? If u dnt do it at dt tym d whole p myt b cold and stale. I dunno if u get me. Nyday nytym I'd ask a girl out via bbm; kosi wahala
